My photography business grew from a desire to learn how to take professional portraits of my kids, while also capturing the cute and sweet moments of their childhood. Their portraits and candid images are such a treasure to me now which is why my photography style has evolved into what it is today - family portraits with candid moments mixed in to capture personalities and family relationships

Alpine Loop: The Perfect Location for Family Photos

back to blog

If you’re dreaming of a forested backdrop with towering pine trees and golden mountain light, Alpine Loop is the perfect place for your next family photography session. Nestled in the breathtaking American Fork Canyon, this scenic drive offers some of the most stunning views in Utah, especially during the fall when the colors explode with vibrant oranges, yellows, and deep greens.

One of my favorite things about shooting in Alpine Loop is the dreamy, secluded feel it offers. Whether you’re walking along a wooded path, snuggled together under the trees, or laughing with your little ones in an open meadow, the natural beauty of this area makes every moment feel magical.

This location is limited due to weather and is not accessible between Nov 1st-Memorial Day. As a Utah photographer, I love helping families create timeless memories in locations that reflect their personalities. If you’re drawn to the rustic charm of Alpine Loop and want your family photos to have that fresh mountain air feel, this is the spot for you!

Bringing Your Dog to Your Photo Session? Here’s What You Need to Know!

If your pup is part of the family, why not include them in your Alpine Loop family session? Here are a few tips to make sure your furry friend is photo-ready:

Bring a leash & harness – Since Alpine Loop is a natural, mountainous area, it’s best to keep your dog on a leash for safety. A neutral-colored or stylish leash will blend seamlessly into your photos!

Pack some treats & toys – A few treats (or a favorite squeaky toy) can help keep your dog engaged and looking towards the camera when needed.

Plan for breaks – Dogs can get excited, especially in a new environment! Allow some time for sniffing, exploring, and relaxing between shots.

Grooming & cleanup – Give your pup a quick brush before the session to keep them looking their best. Also, don’t forget to bring waste bags to keep the area clean.

Coordinate outfits – If your dog wears a bandana or bowtie, consider choosing colors that complement your family’s outfits for a polished look!

Including your dog in your Alpine Loop family session adds an extra layer of personality and fun to your photos. Let’s capture those sweet, candid moments with the whole family—furry members included!

Ready to book your session? Let’s create something beautiful together!
