My photography business grew from a desire to learn how to take professional portraits of my kids, while also capturing the cute and sweet moments of their childhood. Their portraits and candid images are such a treasure to me now which is why my photography style has evolved into what it is today - family portraits with candid moments mixed in to capture personalities and family relationships

Have you ever thought “What do I do with my hands” during a photography session? Knowing what to do with your hands can make a big difference in how natural and confident you look in photos. Here are a few tips:

Relax and Avoid Stiffness

Don’t keep your hands stiff or rigid. Relax them to avoid the “mannequin” look.

Create Purposeful Movement

Put your hands in your pockets, gently hold onto a jacket, or lightly rest them on your lap. When in doubt…put your hands in your pockets!

Avoid Dangling

Don’t let your hands hang loosely by your sides. Rest them on your hip, or overlap your arms naturally. If you are standing next to someone find a way to make a connection with your hands but holding hands, holding arms or putting your arms around each other.

Keeping your hands relaxed and engaged in a natural way will give your photos a polished and confident look!
