My photography business grew from a desire to learn how to take professional portraits of my kids, while also capturing the cute and sweet moments of their childhood. Their portraits and candid images are such a treasure to me now which is why my photography style has evolved into what it is today - family portraits with candid moments mixed in to capture personalities and family relationships

Extended Family

As a Utah County Photographer, one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is capturing the moments that mean the most to you and your loved ones. While individual family portraits hold a special place in our hearts, there’s something truly magical about extended family sessions. These sessions are more than just photographs—they’re a testament to the love, connection, and shared memories that bind generations together. With the holiday season right around the corner, there’s no better time to gather everyone for a photography session that will be cherished for years to come.

You might think you just aren’t “photogenic” or that you’re awkward in front of the camera, but what you don’t know, is that you can look great in photos RIGHT NOW.  So, it’s great you’re here because I can teach my tried and true ways to looking amazing in photos.

Capturing the Bigger Picture

In our busy lives, it’s not often that everyone gets together. Cousins may live states apart, grandparents might be snowbirding in a warmer state, and siblings are scattered across the country with their own families. As a Utah County Photographer, I see firsthand how special extended family sessions can be. They offer a unique opportunity to get everyone in one frame, capturing the joy and love that is sometimes hard to put into words.

Extended family photos tell a story—your story. They show the beautiful diversity of personalities, the unique dynamics, and the special bonds that make your family what it is. My goal is to create a comfortable, fun atmosphere where genuine smiles and real connections shine through. The result? Timeless images that represent the very heart of your family, shot against the stunning backdrops that Utah County has to offer.

Why the Holidays Are the Perfect Time

The holiday season is a time of gathering. It’s when people make the effort to travel those extra miles, to come home, and to reconnect with their loved ones. So why not make the most of this time and create something beautiful together with the help of a Utah County Photographer?

  1. Everyone’s Together: Let’s face it—getting everyone in the same place at the same time is no small feat! The holidays naturally bring families together, making it an ideal time to schedule an extended family session. No one has to rearrange their schedule or book an extra flight—you’re already together, sharing in the warmth of the season.
  2. Seasonal Magic: There’s something incredibly special about the holiday season that adds a little extra magic to photos. From the cozy sweaters to twinkling lights, the warm mugs of cocoa, and even the chill in the air that has everyone snuggling a bit closer—these details create a backdrop that adds even more emotion to your photos. Whether it’s a wintry outdoor setting in beautiful locations around Utah County or the coziness of an indoor shoot, the holiday spirit gives photos a timeless charm.
  3. A Meaningful Gift: One of the most heartfelt gifts you can give is a memory frozen in time. Extended family photos make the perfect holiday gift for grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all those who cherish the ties that bind. There’s no better way to express your love and gratitude than with a beautifully framed photo that captures the joy and love of being together. Imagine the smiles when your loved ones open a photo that encapsulates their favorite moments from a session that brought everyone together.

Creating Memories Beyond the Session

The beauty of scheduling an extended family photo session with a Utah County Photographer is that it’s not just about the photos themselves—it’s about the experience. It’s about cousins laughing together, parents and children having candid moments, and grandparents feeling the warmth of their growing family. During the session, everyone gets to reconnect, and those precious little moments—like grandma’s proud smile or a spontaneous group hug—are captured forever.

It’s also an opportunity for generations to share stories, and to capture the gentle hand of a grandparent on their grandchild’s shoulder, or the mischievous grin of a cousin who always keeps everyone laughing. These are the moments that form the fabric of your family’s story, and they deserve to be preserved.

I’d be honored to help you create these lasting memories. Let’s make this holiday season one that your family will treasure forever, with photos that bring back the warmth and joy of being together each and every time you look at them. Reach out today to book your session, and let’s create something beautiful together.
